A Tribute to Abhay Kumar Mahanti, the Father of Ollywood Star Anubhav Mahanti
It is with a heavy heart that I write this blog post to pay tribute to Abhay Kumar Mahanti, the father of Ollywood actor and Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mahanti, who passed away on Monday. Abhay Kumar Mahanti was not only a loving father, but also a respected academician, a social worker, and a humble human being.
Abhay Kumar Mahanti had a distinguished career as a professor of history at Ravenshaw University. He was known for his deep knowledge, scholarly publications, and inspiring lectures. He was also involved in various social and cultural activities, such as organizing seminars, workshops, and festivals. He was a patron of Odia literature and art and encouraged young talents to pursue their passions.
Abhay Kumar Mahanti had been battling kidney disease for a long time and had to undergo dialysis frequently. His son Anubhav Mahanti, who is a popular Ollywood star and a Lok Sabha member, has been taking care of his father’s medical needs and has been updating his fans and followers about his father’s health condition on social media. He had also requested everyone to pray for his father’s recovery. Unfortunately, his father succumbed to his illness on Monday at his residence in Nandisahi, Cuttack.
Abhay Kumar Mahanti’s death has left a huge void in his family and society. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. His last rites were performed at his ancestral village in Kendrapara district, where he was given a tearful farewell by his relatives, friends, and admirers. Many eminent personalities from different fields, such as politics, cinema, education, and media, visited his residence in Nandisahi to pay their last respects and express their condolences.
I extend my heartfelt sympathy to Anubhav Mahanti and his family in this difficult time. I also salute Abhay Kumar Mahanti for his valuable contributions to the Odia community and the nation. He will always be remembered as a great father, a great teacher, and a great human being. May his soul rest in peace. 🙏
