      Sudasha Brata is a special fest which is observed by married women in Odisha. On this day they worship Maa Laxmi for wealth and prosperity. On tenth day of luni-Solar and it should be Thursday then Sudasha Brata can be observe that day. Women offer 10 Manda Pithas in puja. A sacred thread (Brata)  is prepared and offered to Laxmi. It consists of ten ties in it by uttering 10 names of maa Laxmi. women tie it on their right arm until the arrival next puja of Sudasha Brata ,at that time they replace the thread (Brata) with new one.

Khudurukuni Osha Real Story

      This festive is known as Khudurukuni or Khuda-rankuni. It means a girl begging for food. This festive is observed by unmarried girls. They do puja and fasting for their brother's wealth, prosperity and safety. In Bhadraba month every sunday this puja is held. In morning girls do " Balunka puja". They create a idol in sand and worship that in morning and in evening they worship idol of Maa Khudurukuni and sing the khudurukuni song. Girls of same locality or friends meet at one place in evening and prepare for this puja.

The story behind this fest is a girl named as Tapoyi had 7 brothers. She was the youngest one. She had 7 sisters-in-law too. Being one girl child in family she was too much pampered. But her fate was turned when her father and mother left the world. After that her brothers left home for doing business and trading by leaving her with her sisters-in -law. After this 7 sisters-in-law torchered her so much and didn't give food to eat. Only her youngest sister-in-law was kind to her. This continues untill Tapoyi worshiped Maa mangala for her brothers to come back. Because 12 years before they went and there was no sign of them. Tapoyi was worried about her brothers and worshiped Maa mangala for her brothers safety. After this her brother came and punished her 6 sisters-in-law and took care of her as before. In the end every one came to know that Tapoyi was a angel and born in earth as Tapoyi. They regret and from that day Tapoyi is worshiped as Khudurukuni. As she did puja for her brother to come back so this day girls do worship by seeking their brother's prosperity.

  Raja festival is to inaugurate and welcome the agricultural year all over Odisha. The moistening of the sun dried soil with the first showers of the monsoon in mid of June makes it ready for productivity. This is the festival to celebrate the menstruation of soil. As we believe soil is our mother (female) who gives us food and life. So this is the festival of girl’s. this festival is to give rest to soil and girls.  This festival longs for 4 days. 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th of June. But 13th June is known as Raja Sajada day(preparation day). As girls will not do any work during and they will have various types of food to eat, so there is a preparation before this festival to gather all those things and comfort. Then comes 1st day of Raja(14th June). It is called as Pahili Raja(means first Raja). 2nd day is called as Raja Sankaranti or Mithuna Sankaranti. 3rd is known as Baasi Raja and the last day known as Basumati Snaana. During these 4 days girl usually don’t do any house hold works. They take rest, wear new costumes and jewelries and swing (Doli). They eat various types of sweets and pithas, roam and play whole day, sing and swing, and give pana(betel) to all relatives (Raja pana), a special type of betel for Raja festival with many types of masals(spices). This festival is the festival of swing and sing  song ,“Raja doli kata mata.
